ECM-6401 COM Express Type 7 Module

ECM-6401 core module is equipped with Intel Xeon D series server-grade processors, with optional D-1548 (8 cores, 2.0GHz, 45W TDP) or D-1508 (2 cores, 2.2GHz, 25W TDP). Built on the Broadwell-DE architecture, it features server-level reliability, stability and long-term supply guarantee. Adopting COM-Express Type 7 specification with a dimension of 95×125mm, it is specially designed for network communication, storage and telecom applications. Unlike Type 6 which focuses on display, Type 7 emphasizes PCIe expansion and high-speed network interconnection.

It adopts dual-channel DDR4 2400MHz SO-DIMM design with up to 64GB capacity, providing sufficient memory resources for network packet processing, storage virtualization and edge cloud computing. Expansion capability is the core advantage of ECM-6401: it offers a total of 9 PCIe lanes including 1×PCIe x8, 1×PCIe x16 and 7×PCIe x1. It can be flexibly fitted with server-grade expansion devices such as high-speed NICs (10GbE/25GbE), NVMe storage HBAs, FPGA accelerator cards and encryption cards, meeting high-performance scenarios including Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Storage (SDS).

In terms of network performance, ECM-6401 integrates Intel i225LM/IT controller (up to 2.5GbE) or Intel i210-AT, and also supports 10G Base-KR side-band high-speed interconnection. Its backplane bandwidth and network throughput are leading among COMe core modules. The interface configuration includes 4×USB3.0, 4×USB2.0, 2×SATA3.0 (6Gbps), 8-bit GPIO, LPC, SMBUS, SPI, watchdog and dual fan headers (one on the module, one on the carrier board). It supports dual ATX/AT power modes with input voltage of 8.5V20V, operating temperature 060℃ and storage temperature -20~85℃. It is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems. This product is widely deployed in server-grade embedded scenarios requiring high network throughput, strong expandability and system stability, such as network communication equipment (switch/router control boards), edge storage servers, telecom base station controllers, network security appliances (firewalls/IDS), industrial data acquisition gateways and video streaming servers.
